For those who haven't heard, Terry Pratchett recently donated 500,000 pounds for Alzheimer's research.
Fans are trying to match that sum, the theory being that there are so many of us it would only take a couple of dollars (US) apiece.
It's a good cause, certainly, as anyone who's had a loved one diagnosed knows.
